I would recommend Genus GWMC matte box, its well made and feels solid in the hand, plus you can adapt it for clip on or with rail support very easily.
Plus there is a sale on at the moment!

I own the GMKULT/DSLR Matte Box Ultimate and it seems perfect for the pocket camera, but it is rod based, not a clamp on..

I have already this ones in my list, but I need more ideas...

    Vocas MB-255
    Genus GWMC matte box
    Arri MMB-2 Basic
And this one bigger but for the price the quality seems amazing: shoot35 CINEbox 4x4" Matte Box

    Helppp :P

I just picked up a Chrosziel 3x3 with ND 3, 6, 9 and 1/8 and 1/4 Black Promist for a low price. I'm going to use this with my Sigma 18-35+Speedbooster. So far I don't see any vignetting but haven't done proper test yet. Here are some pics. The 77mm hot mirror will be replaced with an IR Cut filter so i can hopefully use it behind the NDs. No one makes a 3x3 as far as I can tell.

Same question as the original poster but updated to 2018? Ive been eyeballing

    Tilda MB T05

And the Vocas MB with those cool flaps very small footprint

I think the Tilda looks cooler, sturdier but the Vocas will be easier to use.

Any new thoughts on good small matte boxes ($600 or less) in MMXVII

We have a Genus GWMC or whatever it was called 7 years ago. Light weight, sturdy and high quality. It works well for any small camera. Also have a middle sized Tilta. On a small camera I prefer the Genus.
