So Grant Petty has said that there's a new Debayer method coming soon to the BMCC that will make it 'sharper'.

What effect, if any, will this have on moire?

    Any educated guesses out there?

The thing I wonder is if Mosaic Engineering will have to start over with their efforts to make a VAF once the new debayer method is introduced.

I doubt it would affect Mosaic's efforts, they are most likely tuning it to the raw performance which provides the optimal sharpness.
The new debayer is for the compressed codecs and the VAF filter will be filtration of moire or aliasing before the saving to raw or ProRes/DNxHD.

The mosaic filter is an optical filter, which should be designed according to the Nyquist/Shannon limit of the sensor pattern. That will never change with software.
