    I started this thread as a reference for the Metabones Speedbooster when added to the BMCC MFT (Blackmagic Cinema Camera Micro 4/3) and BMPCC (Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera) will give you in equivalent sensor size.


    BMCC
    Sensor size:
    15.81mm x 8.88mm
    Equivalent sensor size after adding the MFT (.71) Speedbooster:
    22.27mm x 12.51mm
    Equivalent sensor size after adding the BMCC (.64) specific Speedbooster:
    24.7mm x 13.88mm

    BMPCC
    Sensor size:
    12.48mm x 7.02mm
    Equivalent sensor size after adding the MFT (.71) Speedbooster:
    17.58mm x 9.89mm
    Equivalent sensor size after adding the BMCC (.64) specific Speedbooster:
    19.5mm x 10.97mm
    Equivalent sensor size after adding the BMPCC (.58) specific Speedbooster:
    21.52mm x 12.1mm


    Other sensor sizes for a frame of reference
    Super35 sensor size (film):
    24.89mm x 18.66mm
    Super35 sensor size (Blackmagic Production Camera):
    21.12mm x 11.88mm
    APS-C:
    25.1mm x 16.7mm (3:2)
    Micro 4/3 sensor size (AF100 and most other Micro 4/3 camera's):
    17.8mm x 10mm
    Micro 4/3 sensor size (GH2 16x9):
    18.8mm x 10.6mm

    Interesting, so the BMPCC with it's s16 sized sensor normally would have a crop factor of around 2.9x, right? with the speedbooster, what would be the change? Around 2.2x?

    I believe so. I think I'm doing the math correctly. If anyone thinks I am doing it wrong let me know and I will change it. The Speedbooster is a .71 change.

    I think the GH2 sensor is 19mm x 10.5mm if my memory serves me correctly, bigger than the AF100 because of the multiformat sensor size but a bit smaller than super35.

    The GH1 sensor is also oversized, the GH3 is conventional.

    Can't remember it was a while ago I looked it up probably EOSHD or personal view, because they were the sites I used to frequent regularly when I had a GH2.

    That's great providing that we will get the metabones speedboosters... so far they are far from it on the EF end of things

    Is this with or without their respective speed boosters? Seems like this is before Metabones announced their speedbooster specifically designed for the BMPCC
