Im really trying to hate this camera which i have already preordered bt everytimes i see a picture out of this tiny sensor, it can't resist... Such painterly creamy look, the DR wins over me...

To my eyes, in full HD it resolve as much or more details than D800 or the new Sony FS700. Any objective opinion about that?
Im a bit worried about finding a good viewfinder for this little thing.. What would be the possible option so far?

I must say the new Zacuto Rig and Follofocus look quite sexy to me , hope i could use these with the cam and hopefully as well the Zacuto EVF pro... any idea?

Difficult to answer without side-by-side testing. Should certainly outresolve a D800, but I would expect the FS700 (when paired with its raw recorder) to resolve much higher than the BMC. The FS700 as-is, should be comparable to the BMC.

Depends on your definition of "good". I've been pretty unsatisfied with all the options I've seen so far -- Zacuto, Cineroid, etc. None have actually felt "good." The one that looks to be far and away the best of the bunch is the Alphatron, but it's $1395. One that looks interesting (if only they'd offer an adjustable diopter eyepiece) is the SmallHD DP4-EVF. For an HDMI-only finder, you'll need something like the BlackMagic Miniconverter SDI-to-HDMI, so budget another $300 for that.

Problem is, it's nearly the size of the BMC, so it wouldn't be unobtrusive. The ideal would be an HDMI port on the BMC, but given the paucity of real estate on the camera, that seems unlikely at this point.

There be ways to mount it etc. Look at the support gear around a production camera on a set. This would be considered going light on the BMC. Yes, HDMI port would have been nice, and from what we've heard it was on earlier designs, however they went SDI. I guess since it doesn't ship for months, anythings possible for them to add it. Make a request in the request section. Myself I would like a 48fps mode, and not for slow-motion, however for actually shooting in real time.

"Rolling shutter? Yeah, it’s there. Serious? Not really; I had to try pretty hard to provoke it. It’s probably on the order of the rolling shutter in the RED ONE, a PMW-EX1, or the like; much better than on a Canon DSLR or the GH2."

It's reassuring to hear this coming from Adam Wilt.

Coming from Adam that is good to hear. He knows what to look for.

I like, in the interview, how very specific the guy states the target market is. Especially when he says for the shooter that wants an option to the bigger cameras for the other twenty-five days out of the month.

That's definitely me. Shoot two to three days out of the month with a big cam, don't want to mess with it for tiny jobs/run and gun but always cringe at anything less.

    Yum.

An interview with Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design.

I recommend listening to this short audio interview with Grant If your interested at all in the BMC or any Blackmagic Design products for that matter. It's a good insight into the philosophy of the company. It happens to be how I look at things as well, and when listening to this interview, you relies how much you want to get behind and back companies like this. I just wish more companies took this path in their approach to business. Enjoy this interview with Blackmagic Designs CEO, Grant Petty.
