    Hi

Anyone have tested some kind of IR filter inside the lens mount of UM's?
I got a 43mm Leica IR filter and just for a few mm can't fit. I'm thinking in cut it , glue inside (not touching the sensor) and forget about IR pollution forever in this camera. Especially when using ND.
    Make sense?
Is a good filter, I don't wanna fuck it up

Adding any optical elemtnes between the rear projection of the lens and the sensor changes your back focal distance. Just be aware of that.

You can add OLPF filter https://rawlite.com/olpf-for-blackma...mini-pro-4-6k/ It reduce IR and the also comes with proper shim. But it needs a serious investment

mmm... not pretty sure about it. IR filter isn't a focal optical element. But I'll keep in mind. Thanks

It's a piece of glass right? It's refractive index will need to be compensated in the overall optical stack.

Versus cutting a random filter and gluing it inside your multithousand dollar camera?!

It's your camera. You can do whatever you want. I'm just asking as a friend... please don't do that.

Kristian Lam isn't a random forum user - he's a representative of Blackmagic Design. If Kristian kindly steps in to offer advice, I would listen.

Any added glass between the rear lens element and sensor stack can have serious consequences. Do some research!

Great! I gonna take a read. Thank you!

First of all, thank you very much everyone for warning me and trying to help me. Maybe because I'm not a native English speaker, you guys can misinterpret my words. I'm not thinking of sticking the filter permanently in the sensor or whatever.

Anyway, I tested in the rear of a lens and leaning against the frame of the camera mount, and you know what? it works!
I have to try more carefully, but the effect is the same as putting the filter in front or rear the lens

doesn't the ND cut IR? If so, does clear setting include IR?
