For NAB, has anyone heard of something in the works that's in between the BMPCC4K and the UMP?

Blackmagic developing self shipping camera to avoid any preorder waiting. Works with metaphysicalbones speed booster.

Wondering if they will release a full frame camera to compete with the mavo lf. On the other hand the ump is still rocking, so would kinda suck for me personally if they release a full frame UMP. But I get its a company and they need to progress on the other hand as well. Would be awesome if there would be some upgrade discount though for ump owners.

Maybe they should avoid announcing anything new at NAB, that way the won't get bombarded with orders they can't handle hehe

Are you sure you really want a photographic FF movie camera? Many lenses for S-35 won't work any more and good glass will be more expensive and heavier. Focus will be more critical too.
And 8K? Plan for a powerful computer then (and ask yourself if any of your clients will pay for all that).

BRAW kind of make 8k and even 12k files manageable.

Is there a chance Pocket 4k get abandoned because its not economical to produce anymore? Demand outstrip ability to manufacture and global bottleneck and price increase because of trade tensions. Not saying any of this is true but if its too difficult to make to fulfill all the orders and new camera risk put on hold because of that.
Vinten is known to scrap products even in a matter of months if it deemed not very cost effective to make to keep people employed.

6K or 8K resolution nobody needs. But FF is in great demand though(apparantly on the mavo lf, you can use a speedbooster and even use medium format lenses). I sure as hell want it. Well you can allways use a crop and still use your S35 lenses.

At this point a full frame sensor will have enough pixels for a super35 extraction to still be beyond 4k, it would also likely be a Sony dual ISO. If you don't need proper cinema lenses it's actually cheaper to lens full frame than super 35 as you can get away with a standard photography set of 28, 50, 135. You don't need faster than 2.8 as you should be shooting f4 anyway. Cheap Russian glass will be your friend to take the edge off of 8k.

What I suspect will actually happen for NAB is BRaw will be released for P4k and the high speed production line will be up and running for immediate order fulfillment. If they can't make that happen, then it will be new cheap camera announced to reduce P4k demand.
