Any reason you use these over the nokton voightlanders?

Here’s a new version of the promo link.

Or just watch the episode. It’s The Resident, season 2 episode 11 “operator error”. The P4K was used extensively in the opening sequence when Bradley is in the ER and Devon is trying to save him.

The SLR magic is much better wide open (I own both).

The Voights go all milky open past T2.8

Ever tested the rokinons/samyangs as well? Colors on the nokton look better though in my opinion, and 0.95 is indeed soft, but it does add some character to the shots I feel. Not for every shoot, but for some arty work it sure works.
I liked the noktons build and ability to close focus as well. But parted with them some years ago moving to full frame.

    John,
I suppose you shot this? I wonder how much you are/were involved in the CC / grading process?

I just recently got the SLR M 25mm as well and it's really nice 1.2 to 2 - better than my old Voigt. And it's much better wide open. Soft but quality soft

    I ahot this yes.

But promos do NOT consult at all on CC. They do their own thing. They don’t even look at my LUTs. They just take the ungraded footage (in this case ProRes 1920) and cut promos before the show is even edited. This is why you often see shots in promos and trailers that don’t make the final show.

They do their own grade. Sometimes they don’t. I’ve seen shots that aren’t graded go to air in promos.

Iv’e not really been interested much in the samyangs/ Roks. They always seem
kind of bland and boring to me. The SLR magic’s are better wide open in the fast primes. The voights just go soft and mushy in a not very good way. The SLR magic’s have some personality.
