I've been seeing a few people complain about the pocket's new sensor size. I for one am all for it. Especially after shooting with the production camera over the last few years.

For Metabones owners. Where does a speed booster put the pocket?

I love it too! With a vanilla, non speedboosted metbones adapter my Sigma 18-35 has a much more useful focal range than it does on super 35. I rarely use it wider than 24mm on Red, so having it cover a range of wide angle to short tele is very very nice. Personal opinion, but I honestly don’t see why anyone would use a speedbooster on this camera with the 18-35. If you need ultra wide, there are plenty of fantastic native 12mm lenses you can add to your kit for the cost of a $600 speedbooster.

I think some prefer to use their existing lenses at a focal length they're accustomed to.

I'm gonna try out the Viltrox M2 ($250). Metabones not getting my money this time around.

Here's the FOV difference between the P4K and GH5 in a real world image. Same lens. The two camera's mounts were within millimeters of each other.

I personally was surprised by just how dramatic the difference.

Sure, I guess for me personally I’ve always wished my 18-35 was more of a 24-50 anyway. And now, it basically is.

Speedboosters aren’t free, and certainly not without optical quirks (as the many other threads discussing P4k SB isssues can attest to).

Why spend money to put glass between your lens and sensor, when you can spend that money to add one more lens to your kit? You’ll regain the lost wide angle of your previous kit without compromising the optical path of the rest of your focal lengths.

Not saying anyone is wrong with how they approach their own tools, just saying that you don’t NEED to speedboost your lenses on the P4k, there are other options. For me, the sensor size of the P4k made my workhorse lens even more useful, and I already had an Olympus 12mm around for those rare instances that I really need to go that wide.

You may want to rethink that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg01...wHCEHzwtfW-b5A

I'm not getting a speedbooster...at least not for now.

I saw that, but what about this? I think it's worth checking out.

Also the best footage I've seen from the pocket 4K thus far.

The rectangle, which is designated as Alexa Mini, is the size of a full frame 24 * 36 mm.
