Happy that finally one person is mentioning these things.
With all the discussions about "mojo"(really this word was driving me almost nuts^^), color, resolution etc. it seemed to me, people think a camera will give you a good short/musicvid whatever.
And honestly, IMHO, sound(-design) is even more important than visuals.

Is there any chance that this new BRAW could be added to the original BMCC? Would it be even possible or is that just a pipe dream?

But the Ursa mini pro looks softer on the demo shots. I def hope so, maybe a result of the denoising. Which would get it even closer to the Alexa image.
But it could also be the lenses they used
Hey, maybe someone will actually be interested in buying my Ursa Mini Pro now. If not, it'll be fun to see what this puts out.

It's unlikely there will ever be another update for the BMCC, the BMPC4K, Ursa, or the BMPCC. None of those cameras got access to any recent advancements. I'm not counting on it, but it would be a VERY welcome addition and would probably get quite a few older BMD cameras dusted off.

I have a question for those of you who have already used this awesome new upgrade! What does the new codec do in terms of cropping the sensor for different frame sizes? For example... on my UM4.6K when I select Cinema DNG Raw and UHD or 4k DCI it crops the sensor and I get quite abit less FOV. What happens when you select Blackmagic RAW and UHD? 4KDCI? etc...

So someone on the Facebook group ran 4.6k 12:1 on the Sandisk extreme pro cards we all use on the original pocket cam. 28 min for 64GB so very comparable to the data we are used to. Dci 4K on new pocket will be less data, so maybe 8:1 will work fine. Hopefully people with UMPro will stress test the high compression rates to see how well they hold up. Early word is promising, this will be a game changer for sure.
Might only need to carry cfast or ssd for 60p or long run times, narrative 24p will be easy.

Interesting could be new Angelbird V60 cards. They are quite cheap and should be 170 MB/s up to 512 GB.

    EDIT:
170MB/s is read speed, write is 105 MB/s.

These BRAW files are a joy to grade! Thanks for hooking us up Hook & Kholi!

I love having the additional metadata info and the performance increase is UNREAL!

I gotta admit, it's kinda freaking me out that I can run a UHD timeline with 4.6K BRAW files + 3 node grade, in realtime! Without caching!

All on a cMP with single 6GB GTX980 Ti. Yes Please! ! Now I kinda wanna throw some stuff at my 6 year old rMBP and see what happens

Hats off to the entire Blackmagic Team! Your name becomes more and more apt every product/feature release
