You think they decided yesterday that they should be producing more? It takes time to get a production line going, and then it takes more time to get it up to speed.

Same old story? They said they would start shipping units in September and that's what they're doing..

Edit: Hoping to hear from Hot Rod sometime this week:

They may have just stacked ten for a pretty picture because they didn't have the space to stack all of the others? One can hope

If it's a small dealer, 10 isn't bad. Maybe everyone gets 10 from the first batch who knows. You would think people would know by now that if they really want at the first of the line to order from a small dealer.

easy up guys, was just having a laugh......same story yes, trickle trickle as normal. you would think they would try to ramp up production before release date not after based on global pre orders, obviously easier said than done. They should have just left that paragraph out.
anyways, on a positive note, congrats to the ones that get theirs this week!

Well, that post comes from some retailer in Australia and not official BlackmagicDesign. BlackMagic just does what they are supposed to do which is make this cameras as fast as they can while maintaining quality standards. There is so much speculation and wishful thinking across the internet based on random information from retailers, then people take into further creating far fetched rumours that the camera will ship in year 3204. Like any other product with high demand (Tesla 3, Ronin-S anybody?) it is expected that the initial pre-orders will far exceed the production capabilities and it will take some time to catch up. The fact is that the camera is shipping to retailers. 10 units as a first shipment for a retailer in New Zealand is pretty decent actually. I'm pretty sure retailers like B&H will receive many more copies on the first batch and more from there on.
Do mind that the factory for this camera is located in Singapore*. It makes sense for Australia and New Zealand to receive their batch first.

Besides, hey, this is an Australian company. Time goes 10x slower there Stress-free life for the win.

*while on this topic, it really amazes me how BM manages to make this camera in Singapore with $4400USD average wage workers and still sell it at this price point. Makes you think how much money other camera companies make when they manufacture in China and Thailand and they sell their (not even comparable) cameras at a much higher premium.
