I love SmallRig products and I was thinking about the cage they would release for the P4K. I think this one looks great, not sure how it can be improved, but I think others will come up with an idea or two. IMO, what makes SmallRig such a great company is clever designed accessories at very affordable prices.

FYI, there are more photos in the first link.

The only thing I can think of is finding a way to attach a sun hood for the screen.

Really? I think it is a terrible design. Problems:

    1. 270 gram. Pretty big and heavy.
    2. Why cover up the right handle? I want to use the right handle.
    3. There are not many screw holes on the top of the cage.
    4. No holes fore Metabone Speedbooster.

    etc...

Some guy on facebook did some improvements:

IMHO the best way would be a "half cage". Something like this:

Yes, I second the idea of a half Cage.

The guy made some good observations. Something better for the cable management on the left side needs to be made. I didn't pay enough attention to that part.

As for covering up the right handle, this is a 'full' cage but you can still use the handle, IMO. Plus there're a few more mounting points on that side. If you plan using the camera's handle A LOT, I can see why you would prefer a 'half cage'.

Full cages are very uncomfortable in my experience, I had one for the A7s ii and it didnt take long before I just removed the cage and sold it. However, I can see why people might want additional mounting points. I think the best of both worlds would be a removable right side of the cage.

I agree that half cage is the way to go on this one, it looks really awkward to partially surround the grip. . The original pocket cages that included a mounded grip of some sort were great ad the camera was so small and it increased the mass, but that is not needed for the new one.

Please join facebook and "vote" for the "half cage" design or comment that you want a "half cage" design.
Another PRO for haolf cage is that it might be better to use it on a gimbal. Maybe SmallRig will release
a "full cage" and "half cage". i donīt know.

The "original cage design" sucks but it is great that SmallRig aks the users what they want.
    So.. again. Please comment here:
