Rather have a SSD flush mounted at the base.

Agreed. Been using the camera for a couple of weeks now, didn't have any problems with the Velcro but a more elegant solution of course it's welcome.
If I could hide the SSD under the camera, it would be the most ideal. In fact the most ideal would be an extra battery with a placeholder for the T5.

Pidulgi, this is off topic but have you tried attaching an external monitor to the camera? If so, do you notice any latency?

I wanted my SSD mounted at the base, too. So if I use a monopod or Tripod or Table the SSD got little stresstest. /s

Smallrig emailed me that they have an SSD design underway for their cage but they're not even taking about preorder until mid October.
A bit late to a big game I think.

Still wating for the final cage / and also half cage design from Smallrig.
No updates so far and 8Sinn just posted some nice SSD Clamp and USB-C Clamp solution.
als Speedbooster Support. Even the half cage by 8Sinn is pretty bulky and heavy.
I donīt need so much metal around the camera. Wating for smallrig.

Well that’s sad news, might go with the Hontoo just to have something when the camera arrives.

Heat dissipation from the T5 is a consideration, but some kind of all in one battery/TD ssd solution is the right idea. I need power, storage, and port protection.

I haven't even ordered the camera yet. I'm waiting for all the bugs and hiccups to be worked out in the camera and accessories. I'm also waiting for everyone to get their accessory solutions out.

This camera is going to be top dog for a long time. Accessory manufacturers have a long tail to supply.
