Hey guys,
I have a ursa mini 4.6k and I usually use IR cut as my first filter. When stacking a cpl, should it come in front of the IR or after? Any particular order of using other filters such as diff, variable nds, etc?
Thanks

I put diffusion closest to the lens to avoid ghosting and ND or IR on the outside.
Thanks. I also stack the ir cut first in line, then ND and then diffusion. But my question was more oriented to the circular polarizer especially if also using a variable ND which also has a certain degree of polarization. First, is it a good idea to use both and, if so, in what order?
Thanks
I put my VND in front, as is is easier to adjust with a IR/ND behind it.
Cheers
Circular polarizers should be out front.
You want to darken or diffuse your image AFTER you've decided what image you've selected with the polarizer.
I did an experiment once where I diffused first, then polarized. Well as you might guess- you could see the diffused haze of the parts of the image that were removed with the polarizer afterwards.
Doesn't work so well.... although I suppose one could create optical effects this way.
Thanks guys. Should it go in front of the IR as well? They are both filters that subtract something from the image. I remember reading somewhere that IR filters can create weird reflections if they're not the first thing that light hits.
