I'm looking for a solution for powering a BMMCC and Video Assist from a single large battery without the need for frequently changing out Lp-E6n batteries. The camera is on rails so I don't mind having a fairly substantial battery.

Is getting a v-lock battery with D-tap output, a splitter/isolator and two cables with dummy batteries or a SMALLRIG 1819 POWER CABLE for the monitor a good and safe solution?

I'm struggling to wrap my head around how best to power the two items as there seem to be so many approaches so I'd be grateful for any advice!

    Thanks.

I have been trying out a regulated 7.2/4 vdc dummy battery to the Micro ca era and use a DTap/BMCC cable to the VA, gives a workable solution, using a 75-watt Gold Mount AB Battery. Just be sure TI connect the battery cables befor turning on the camera and VA.
    Cheers

Check this thread http://www.bmcuser.com/showthread.php?21004 there are lot of ideas and tips about attaching V-mount battery to the BMMCC.

Instead LP-E6 Dummy Battery you can get my Expansion Box so you can easy and simple plug 14 V external power too the camera.

Also you don't need that D-Tap-to D-Tap splitter. Just get few 5.5x2.5mm DC cables from local electronic store and make simple DIY D-Tap to DC power splitter cable.

    Hello!

    This is my solution.

NP-F BRIDGE + SWIT S-8972. (It Works for 1.5 hours)

    V-Mount (95Wh works for 5.5 hours)

1.5 hour only? I never understand why people are using V-Mount. Way to heavy.
I got a cheap Feelworld monitor. An with Sony FP 550 Batteries (3000 mAh) the monitor
is working for 3 hours. And a LP-E6 on my BMMCC is working for 1.5 hours.

If I want I can use a F970 or F990 and running the monitor for 12 hours.
Same with the BMMCC and NP-F BRIDGE. If I plug in a good F990 it will run for 8, 10 hours and more.

    1.5 hour only?
Because it power Micro and VA.
And if you using one 7v battery for both without step up voltage, It down more fast.

Definitely. They just need to make a smaller solo plate, these are half the size of the full size joints.

Hi thanks, I'd forgotten all about that NP-F Bridge but it seems like a very good solution! Are you able to charge the SWIT S-8972 Battery on a Canon LP-E6N charger or can they only be charged up via a SWIT charger?
