... at least to me he is.

I come from the world of creative people of all types, and Grant's philosophy, in his own words here, could not be more admirable.
I know SO many great creative people who can do more now than they ever could before because of Grant and BMD.

Few people can have a really positive effect on MANY people's lives. It's not an easy thing to do.

Cheers Grant Petty and BMD, you're part of the good guys.

He's more like the Donald to me... questionable and hard to believe, if anything he says is even worth anything. We all have our opinion.

When BMD bought Da Vinci systems in 2009, Grant was quoted at NAB after the announcement that he felt that Resolve would no longer go for $850K USD anymore but that he might be able to get it down to around $500K. One of the reporters asked if he ever thought he could get it under $1K and everyone laughed.

    And now it's $299 USD.

    Who needs belief?
Just look at the products they have brought to market, their functionality, and their price points.
..and then try to make a list of other companies who have done the same.

Those who were promised the URSA 4.6K Turret for many years after they bought the URSA 4K. Now instead are offered the URSA Mini PRO for a discount and still puts on the carrot that the 4.6K Turret is still being worked on. We don't want the UMP at all and he still does not get it. The products coming out to market are not longer the products people care for and BMD reputation is bad. I hate to walk into a shoot with a Blackmagic camera where everyone else is using a RED or a Canon C200 or Panasonic EVA. Just can't be proud of its reputation at all. Even Wolfcrow pick of the year for low price point cinema camera did not include any BMD, but the Panasonic GH5 got selected over any BMD at all. Sorry Dane, many of us have had a bad taste of Grant's misleading marketing campaigns.

    EYu,
You might want to let DPS have his day in the sun and maybe start another thread if you're wanting to vent about how well BM is able to keep their promises.
I personally, ended up with a C200. I skipped on the Mini Pro.
I'm going to keep my BMPC for now, but nothing else in their lineup is of interest to me now.
But getting back to DPS OP I can see why he says that.
