I have a long project that I will need to render out multiple times. I decided to use cache to reduce time needed for multiple deliveries and to improve playback while working.

Since turning on the cache source for my RAW media, and smart cache for the nodes, I have worked on two of the timelines in the project. First, one that I have left gaps between scenes, and the second is a timeline made from that where I removed the gaps and will apply transitions. That will become my master.

I am not clear how Resolve decides what to cache...only work on the open sequence? Does the nested sequence generate a whole new set of source cache or recycle the cache from the parent sequence? What about old timelines I havenít opened....should I delete all those I am not going to us to prevent un needed cache?

I didnít find reference to these topics in the manual...if itís there, please point me in the right direction.

It looks like there is a render going on the nested timeline, but fast compared with the original timeline. So I think it must be recycling the cached media from the source timeline.
