  1. #1 Syncing Audio from external recorder with raw DNG files
I've purchased Plural Eyes 4, but didn't know it won't work on RAW dng files. I actually find this quite odd..however is there anyway around this? I shot a scene using 3:1 raw and recorded audio externally through a boom mic.

You could convert the RAW in Resolve, sync in PluralEyes and import the XML while conforming to the source for grading.
Might even help with editing on lesser hardware, if you re-conform after editing.

You could always sync comparing the wave form especially if you have some sort of loud defined sound.

I use a Timecode Systems Wave in our Audio bag connected to the recorder and Timecode Systems Mini TRX+ on the URSA Mini's and Slate.

I've never had a single issue raising the waveforms to see peaks on the scartch tracks and aligning those with the main audio.
Just finished synching a project's audio this morning...do it on every shoot.

From raw, you might have to consider tentacle sync.
I've heard it works well. My unit comes later this week but a new version will be out soon.

Can you explain a bit further? I'm not familiar with importing XML files since I've never edit via proxy.

I'm looking in this solution. It's affordable but with a new version on the horizon..

I picked up the old version of the Tentacle Sync (I don't need to wait for any of the new features) and paired it with the Zoom F4. It's absolutely wonderful syncing audio in Resolve with just a few clicks.
