Does anyone know of any decent SDI monitors smaller than 5"? I'm looking for something to reference framing when shooting at odd angles and to make checking takes easier.

I shoot with an EVF 90% of the time so I don't need it to pull focus. LUT support would be incredible but absolutely not required. Oh, and of course cheap would be good, but I can budget a little more if it's worth it...just don't expect me to run out and grab a SmallHD 503!

Well, with SDI, it's kind of hard to find. I did used the Cineroid as both an EVF and taking off the loupe as a 3.2" monitor. You might be interested in it as an option. Obviously, you can check out the IKan 3.5" HDMI monitors and use a BMD HDMI to SDI mini converter too.

The smallest SDI screen I could find at B&H is 7". If you can change the SDI requirement, there are several affordable options.

The BMD Video Assist 5" would be a lot smaller than that but not smaller than the 5" request of the OP. $495 with SDI and HDMI and it is a recorder too.

Edit: Looking into it some more, I think I may just give the Video Assist a shot...

I am running the atomos samurai blade. Maybe the blackmagic video assist is a bit thinner though.

The cineroid looks pretty sweet. The cheaper one is sdi only, but the $800 evf has a much better display, and both sdi+hdmi. Putting that on my wishlist for sure. Zacuto also makes an evf thats like .63" or something. Not sure how that works

You really should wait and save for the SmallHD 502. I cant even express how amazing it is. It’s like putting an iPhone on top of your camera.
