As the title says, why not?

NVMe - M.2 data transfer rates are excellent. Use it as a large buffer(up to 1TB for under $500).
Then the footage is slowly transferred to removable media, most likely to cheap SD cards. The process should be able to continue during recording too.

I'm curious to know if there is a technological limit that won't allow such cameras to exist.
Perhaps video camera makers have already scheduled such models for next few years?

I'm having hard time to digest RED magazine and Cfast prices.

Let's say you are shooting something where the cost of production (location, vehicles, stunts, actors, lighting, power, etc etc) all adds up to 10s or even 100s of thousands of $$. You don't want that take stored on a cheap SD card.

That is more or less how the DBolex works only it's a full size SSD not M2. I don't know that anyone is a fan of the workflow. The drives are so small why would you want to limit it to internal storage, why not just make it external? The Pix recorders use the older Msata cards in a small USB enclosure and the price/performance ratio compared to cfast is about 5:1.
