I found this at SpeedBooster page

"Smooth iris support with the latest Canon (2009+), Tamron (SP series 2013+) and Sigma (2016+) lenses"

and the BMPCC SpeedBooster FW 2.8 update description says

"Fixed smooth iris support for 40/2.8 STM, 50/1.8 STM and Sigma 50-100/1.8 DC HSM Art 016."

Tested with Canon 100 mm 2.8 Macro, it is 2009 lens

    And it works great

This is just for expansion port controllers of BMMCC, right? It doesn't impact aperture behaviour on BMPCC?

I think it might help also on BMPCC, there still is steps, but the lens moves smoothly between the steps, not suddenly clicking to new position. Maybe this functionality is on the SpeedBooster?

I just installed the firmware update and tried it with my 40mm F2.8 STM. The little jog lever does nothing

"little jog lever does nothing" You mean the Speed Booster thing? There probaly is some way to make that work, but it does not work for me either. I controlled with SBUS controller connected to BMMCC Expansion port, but on BMMCC it shuld be possible to controll Iris with the front buttons also.

Oh okay. I also tried by using the iris dial on my cinemagear pro controller. It still stepped, and also with the camera buttons. Maybe if I re-map from the dial to one of the focus or zoom buttons? That smooth iris pull takes this camera literally into another dimension of possibility. I'd love to get it to work.

The controller I'm using, although the camera buttons also stepped still

A little off topic, but does there exist yet a controller that is also a handgrip that's supported by a cage or something? Would make this camera a close form factor to a dslr

The steping might me also lens dependant, though it says ad SpeedBoster page "Smooth iris support with the latest Canon (2009+), Tamron (SP series 2013+) and Sigma (2016+) lenses" The Canon 100 mm 2.8 Macro works nice.
