    Hello,

I noticed that when my camera is turned off, the battery is still drained pretty fast. Is it best practice to remove the battery from the camera when not shooting?

    Cheers

    Yes it is.
And this should be considered as another flaw of the ursa mini.

No, all the ENG cameras that use external batteries have the same issue. It has never been considered a good work flow habit to leave the battery mounted, unless the camera is being used, or in a "ready to go" kit status. All cameras were, and should be, stored with their battery removed. Most all professional video cameras will slowly drain a battery left on/in the camera. The camera"s power switch is (as it should be) connected to the power supply to regulate powermto the camera, so the battery is always hot to its side of the power supply, which will add a small load to the battery, and slowly discharge it.

With today's electronic cameras, the switch is a "soft" switch (not the case with BM Ursa or Ursa Mini) which requires the logic board to be working to receive the switch command. This is Not a flaw -- it is a design decision.
    Cheers
