    Hi,

I don't want to create a discussion about VistaVision VS S35. Formats co-exist and it's always great to have more choices.

    Just...

    Who would sign up ?

Personnally, I would gladly pay 1k$ for one.

Metabones, or maybe a skilled technician, listen to us.

Currently i don't believe it is optically possible given the mechanical constraints on the camera. Even looking at it sans mount, from what i can see there doesn't look to be the room to allow the required optical bfl shortening needed for a speedboosted device.

I contacted Metabones to see if they are working on one. The answer is that they are going to speak about it to their design team. Probably a pretty generic answer but we will see.

Phil Holland (reduser) did a custom 645 Speedbooster for the 8K VV Dragon, and there is a custom speedbooster for Helium. However, maybe Weapon has more room. I really don't know.

It's more about the lens format, 645 has a 64mm ffd so plenty of room for SB optics.

I don't know about the URSA mini camera family but the big URSA V1 appears to have enough real estate to allow a focal reducer based on Metabones optical cells to be built to replace the PL-Mount and accommodate Nikon F-Mount lenses. The shoulder receiver of a PL-Mount cannot be accommodated because it has to be situated around 8mm furthur rearwards for the BMPCC Speedbooster lens set. The BMPCC image circle appears to be smaller than the V1 sensor's active area. The optical cells for the micro 4/3 sensors or the BM 2.5K sensor may have more chance of working. If anyone could project the image from a larger Speedbooster with a lens mounted to it onto a piece of groundglass and measure the image circle, it would be interesrting to see if this could cover the V1 sensor area.

No, I am talking about a S35 to VistaVision speedbooster

Here is the custom focal reducer of Helium S35 to VV format : http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthr...p-Custom-mount

Let's see if it can be done on UMPro !

To what end? There is already a plethora of fast wide lenses for the s35/aps c format. Is it just to get a stop? If they made one what lenses would you use?
