Looks like you're still a stop to bright on the Micro. Where you using a speedbooster? You said you compensated for the stop between native iso but what about the extra stop from the speedbooster? If you click between the two cameras on your youtube clip, you can see the histogram on the Micro jump considerable from the lows all the way to the highs. Click back and forth from :03 sec to :22 sec and watch the histo.

Second shot looks very similar in the luminance but the first and third seems like the Micro is a stop higher. It maybe from passing clouds. Good test. Now you see why I want a 4K BMD camera! All that rez with all that DR.

Resolution on the GH5 looks killer. Using same lens on both? The Micro looks soft, but it maybe the normal perceived softness you get when side by side images are played together and one has 4 times the resolution.

Hmmm....not "that bad"? Is that the measuring stick? Degrees of badness?

I truly am not bashing the GH5, I just don't understand why Blackmagic users are suddenly so interested in this 4k compressed codec camera.

I personally think that to say that a brand new 2017 10-bit 4K camera "didn't do that bad" against what is basically a 5-year old 2K camera of half the price is not praise.
I mean, if we're choosing the words "didn't do too bad" then are we not still saying "oh yes, it did badly, just not excessively badly"?

So is this ALL just about getting the IBIS?

The thing is that I've never been blown away by the bmmcc and bmpcc for landscape stuff. That's an area where the softer look is a detriment in my opinion. On the other hand, in a tighter shot of human beings, I have no doubt that there would be no comparison. The bm will blow the gh5 out of the water. I own both, and if the bm had the ergonomics and features of the gh5, I'd never pick up the gh5.

Also, these shots are not really super high dynamic range. Despite the blue sky, nothing is getting direct sun from what I can see. Again, I think the BM would blow away the gh5 if the dynamic range was stressed more.

They look very similar DR-wise with GH5 resolving waaay more detail and not looking over-sharpened. Like it more here than bmmc.

People are interested in GH5 because it's got good DR, lots of detail, nice color (finally), very decent codec (10 bit 422 400mbs, vlog), impressive ibis, 4k 60p, 2k 180p, great ergonomics. Besides, it's a very nice photo camera

I'm going to be shooting a short demo with a model using Kholi's new GH5 LUT this weekend. Stay tuned. Color is on par with the BM cams lacking a bit of highlight rolloff. Nothing major though.

I was unsure if I should get the Blackmagic URSA MINI Pro or the GH5 until I found some footage and tried to match these clips:

    BMU46K
    UM46k.jpg

Hint: The UM46K footage was way easier to play with.
