That monitor is 1920x1200 too...it says 4K, but they mean 4K support. The one I linked has 4K support too.

And 1920x1200 is a excellent resolution, if it really is that. However, the Focus, even st 720, it is still a good monitor for pulling focus. Given the choice between this and the 501, is would have probably gone for this one.p formthe Micro and Pocket cameras.

Goodgoings, a Micro was used as this monitor is intended for DSLR and Mirrorless cameras, that useually have Micro HDMI anyway. Also a well done, strain relief rigged Micro connection will hold up just as well. The Ficus has the connection exiting the monitor at a downward angle, and thismshould reduce any strain on the port. But, that said, I would have preferred at least a Mini HDMI, both of which actually have a higher insertion cycle rating than the full size HDMI port.
    Cheers

    1920 x 1200 > 1920 x 1080 > 1280 x 720

Probably not the cost, but the size is behind the decision. Most likely having full size HDMI would cause physical size increase.

I might be wrong, but I think the power output was designed with DSLR/mirrorless cameras in mind and won't supply enough voltage for the BMPCC.

You can run the BMPCC on an external 7.2VDC input to the camera's power plug, if you still have the internal battery connected. An external 7.2/7.5VDC will not charge the internal battery, but will run the camera if the MA are ar least 4200, I have tested this with a 4200MA battery for my remote zoom servo unit, worked fine. A DSLR is going to draw as much power as a Pocket camer, when filming video. Just use at least a NP 774, and a NP976 would be better yet.

That's good to know, thank's Denny! The SmallHD Focus is really the monitor for me and my BMPCC :-)

Be interested in your report on how good the monitor is, image quality wise. Thinking about getting one too. I have two cameras, would be nice to have an extra monitor like this.

Does anyone know if the Focus can accept 12v 0.8A imput from an external power bank? My current setup is all powered by a power bank. Just rigged up a dummy L battery for my power bank to plug into. Want to make sure it doesnt kill the monitor. seems to run fine with 7.4v input but drops too low when powering both micro and focus at 7.4v and shuts off. Original setup with DP4 ran fine with 12v input to both micro and monitor

I owned the 501 and now i have the focus
Best mobjtor so far even if ita not a 1080 screen. Easy to focus and navigate. The aux is awesome. Im not aure if it accepts 12v. Better ask smallhd themselves.
Ive used the bestview and the inupt lag is annoying. Great for director / client monitor but terrible for operator monitor.
