  1. #1 EF to MFT Aputure DEC Wireless Focus & Aperture Controller
I was just looking into getting a metabones EF to MFT adapter (NOT the speedbooster which I already have) when I came across this product

    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...ess_focus.html

I did a quick search but couldn't find any discussion of it here on the forum. Anyone out there using it? Thoughts? Here's a review that I found on youtube

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efsoDseaAHk

Given the fact that the price is less than the MB adapter I wouldn't even mind so much if the focus side of things was a bit flakey as one of the reviews on BH seems to suggest. It still allows aperture control. The only very minor downside that I can see is that you won't get a read out of the aperture on your screen or monitor from the camera because the adapter isn't communicating with the camera its just communicating directly with the lens. This is probably one of the reasons why it is cheaper than the MB adapter- no need to translate between EF and MFT protocols.

They also now do a speedbooster version.

I was considering it for a while two years ago or so, but never bought it. (Didn't buy anything and stuck with MFT lenses at the time.)

I remember watching this video, which has a little hands-on too:

Thanks. Yeah I'm still looking. My lenses are all EF at the moment so this is a little more attractive for me.

Early last fall I remember seeing them touting one of these that also had a Variable Liquid Crystal ND built in. It was slated to come to market early this year. I'd get in touch with them and see if it's still on the way and if it's still configured with the EF to MFT adapter with the follow focus. I posted on it here somewhere. It'd be a nice piece of gear if it worked.

Variable ND would be cool and make the whole thing more useful for run and gun style shooting. At the moment I'm mostly shooting in more controlled conditions where the benefits of variable ND are not as significant.
