Crosshatching was only "mostly" solved a couple of months ago with FW 4.2 and to be honest the Mini 4.6k only became useable since then.

To much STUDIO and BROADCAST Less CINEMA
BMD lost his spirit to the big money they forgot the many people who love to shoot with the BMCC and BMPCC
    I would't buy this camera

Still waiting for the BMCC/BMPCC upgrade. If nothing gets announced this year I'll probably get GH5.

Yeah, I hope they will keep doing the small cinema cameras in the future.

For everyone who feels let down due to just having purchased a 4.6K. Probably not much of a consolation, but as a former RED owner I remember reading on the reduser forum at the time when RED essentially cut the price of the 40Kish Epic to half, out of nowhere. Not much of a help, I know, just saying it could be much much worse.

I think Rick Lange has maybe 10-20% inside information of what BMD is up to
He sort of hinted in the official forum BMD might give existing UM46 customer a break but "not today". So maybe another camera in the future?

I would keep hold of your proof of purchase just in case.

According to this reply to a customer BMD does not consider the Mini Pro to be an upgrade to the UM46. In terms of IQ and frame rates this is true but for practical use as ENG camera and single person operator this would still be an upgrade

The pro is BM first real camera that's useful & practical outside of the overly controlled studio environment.

It's literally the same cinema quality camera but with all the real world features that everyone complained BM cameras lacked.

You mean how a cinema camera is designed to be used?

I definitely don't consider it an upgrade it's a separate line. I think if they called it URSA Mini ENG or USRA Mini Broadcast rather than PRO people would feel better. It's not more "professional" it just has ENG features.
