If they announce a new S16mm sensor camera that is at minimum 2.5k RAW and around $2K I will immediately trade my UM4K for it.

i would rather see the 2.5k on the 15.81mm wide bmcc sized sensor. with 2.5k raw 2k raw and fdh raw. we get the same pixel pitch as the pocket, and if in a larger body than the pocket, possibly more cooling capability to give us more dr. even the pocket sensor is capable of 14.6 stops if cooled enough, spec sheet says 88db, that 6 db per stop.

One benefit of 8k cameras is that when you pixel average down to a 4k image, you get a LOT of noise reduction. That's the real secret of these obscene frame sizes. An 8k sensor will have better low light capabilities if it is rendered down to a 4k frame than a 4k sensor of the same kind will.

    That's not really true.

I want to see a trade up program if that happens. Trade in my usra mini 4k for a 4.6

What Im saying is that averaging the pixels reduces the noise. I saw a clip on the new 8k Red that illustrated the idea, and it was impressive.

Most likely a Ursa mini 2, or a alternate version of the Ursa Mini judging by the pick
