I'm interested in knowing how everyone organizes and stores their equipment. Currently I just have everything in drawers, but thinking of getting a cabinet with some locks, or a shelf unit from Ikea.

I already had an IKEA drawer so I use the SKUBB boxes to store and organize lenses, batteries, grip ect

I have found Tenba wraps to be very helpful for protecting equipment. This can be important if they have the possibility of banging around against each other. It also permits quick storage in transport cases and even loose rucksacks for quick small jobs.
If I wanted my films to look like the real world I'd buy a video camera.

Is a pile in the floor of an unused room not good enough for you? I usually panic when I can't find something on the day of a shoot, get frustrated playing tetris trying to cram too much gear into my tiny car, and wonder where it all went wrong when I can't get to the jack to replace a flat tire. It's a work in progress, but it works for me!

In all seriousness, though, while that's not too far from the truth, I pretty much have a case or box for everything and try to make sure it all goes back in its place before and after a shoot. From huge Pelican cases to Plano storage boxes (and every size camera bag and case in between).

I keep it all in a couple Tamrac cases. Very easy to grab and go.
