You can not get a 4K sensor with Raw or even ProRes data readout at UHD resolution on a small camera like the Pocket. The Micro 4K is about as small as you can get with the needed cooling, and it does not have the recorder it it, so adding that would increase the size. You would end up,with a camera the size of the GH5 or larger?
    Cheers

Technology is a moving target, Denny. The same was once true with 1080p raw. The technology in the Pocket is years old at this point, and some of the tech in the Pocket was absolute crap even when it came out (the display, the audio). There is room for a lot of improvement with the Pocket even aside from the image sensor. I would expect to see at LEAST 1080/60p of the Micro being possible in a Pocket-size body by now - probably more. Bumping up to UHS-II would be a good move, USB 3.1 Type-C, etc., and put something better than a rectangular potato in as the display would be very nice. I'd be more than willing to go to a GH5-size camera to get things like 4K, flip-n-twist display, good audio, and ND. I'd also be more than willing to pay more ($2K would be fine for those capabilities).

The GH5 is looking pretty fine for a lot of my uses at this point, especially once the summer firmware arrives, and using an external monitor/recorder. The color science seems to have improved, and the GH5 can have load up to 4 in-camera LUTs. Blackmagic doesn't have an eternity to put out a 4K Pocket or Micro Cinema, because the competition isn't standing still.

Don't play with my emotions like that.

A lot of people buy the Pocket for its size, but a lot don't care that much. The ones who buy it for its size don't seem to realize there are people who don't care about the size and anything that would make it larger puzzles and/or horrifies them. There is clearly a market for an Ursa 'Micro' camera.

Yes, Tyger11, technology is a fast moving target these days. And Yes, there is room for both, a upgraded Pocket as it is now, and a larger GH5 type with 4K. I would love to see an upgraded Pocket, with the VA-5 inch LCD screen, with tilt capabilities, 1080p60 using the same or better video processor from the Micro Cinema camera, which has a faster sensor read out time than the Pocket, improving Morie and rolling shutter issues, SDI Din video out to replace the Micro HDMI or a larger locking HDMI port, would be a camera I would buy.

A larger form factor upgraded Pocket with these and a sensor upgrade would also be grand!
    Cheers.

GH5 can output through hdmi 4k 10 bits at 60fps on Atomos Inferno recorder.

Even if it cannot do 4k RAW internally the next Pocket camera should at least record 4k Prores at 60fps.
