Finally did an updated UM46 low light test with firmware 4.2
This time tested all ISOs- 200, 400, 800, 1600 under 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 foot candles of illumination. 200% closeups and uncorrected shots are also included in this video.
Lens: Nikkor 50/1.4 shot wide open.

This is not a scientific tests- no chart was used. My concern is what a face looks like brought back from the mud, and of course shadow detail- so sort of duplicating a less than ideal location.

To my eye, the corrected shots using ISO 200 were the best at least up to 8 foot candles.

They were the cleanest, though there's something about 400 iso that I like intrinsically. Course I'm looking at camera originals on a 4K monitor not Youtube compressed images.

Yeah what is it about 400ASA that looks so great on that camera? Shane Hurlbut seemed to think the same as well. Shadows are clean, no FPN, it's a shame to give up the stop of highlight room, but still doesn't feel overly contrast.
