We have footage taken from BMPCC RAW and URSA 4K Raw 3:1. Any suggestions on matching BMPCC Raw and URSA 4K Raw in DaVinci Resolve? I'm thinking of adjusting the URSA Raw levels to first come as close to the exposure of the BMPCC before doing any corrections and grading. I like to know how you will approach it. Thanks.

I think Frank G. mapped out a really accurate way to do that sometime back.
Perhaps he'll see this and share the recipe again.
Cameras: Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Blackmagic Pocket Camera (x2), Panasonic GH2 (x2), Sony RX100 ii, Canon 6D, Canon T2i,
Mics: Sennheiser, AKG, Shure, Sanken, Audio-Technica, Audix
Lights: Every Chinese clone you can imagine

Thanks Dane. I was looking for Franks post but can't find it. I hope he see this too.

Hi Michael. Thanks for the color card suggestion. Still the URSA has more contrast than the BMPCC and I am having to adjust them manually.

Actually there's something that might work a little better for this than just a standard color chart - and that's Art Adams' camera matching color chart. It has the colors that fall right on the lines of the colors on a vectorscope so you can compensate more exactly for the performance differences between sensors.

Then it has a bunch of skin tones on it too. I've used this chart and I think it's a lot more useful for grading than a standard chart is. It's sure as hell faster and it is a lot CLEARER when you can see and control for yourself the primary color response differences.

The problem.... it ain't cheap. No, I don't own one sadly.

Someone here should buy one and then we can all send it around and make our own VFX presets that bridge the cameras we're using.. then send it on to the next person.
Not that I don't advocate buying the chart...I DO! ..but sometimes it just feels like all the solutions you need are just going to bury you under the costs.

I would just get a xrite video checker and make power windows on the charts, if you can. You could run your own tests and just notate your findings.

Not sure if this will work but there is a feature in Resolve that lets you match clips (called "Shot Match this Clip" option). I will give that a try tonight. Of course you need a baseline color corrected clip first.
