    Hi,

Can anyone please recommend me a storage file format and compression codec for the rendition of Cinema DNG RAW Timelines on DaVinci Resolve, for optimal IQ for upload on YouTube?

    Thanx

    10-bit DNxHD or DNxHR.
Yes it's a really big file, but it's like your "master" file.
    YouTube will take it.
    So will Vimeo.
    Just takes longer.

No other file format will give better image quality results.

Thank's for the suggestion. Yes, they gave the same advice on another forum. Yesterday I uploaded my film on YouTube with DNxHR HQ and it took over five hours to do that. Unfortunately, my audio got lost in the process and today I'm doing it again but now using DNxHR SQ, taking perhaps four hours instead. Let's hope the audio gets through this time.

Watching the video yesterday, it lookedd quite good on day shoots, but night shoots still looked very compressed with lots of blocking, etc. I really hate YouTube.

Perhaps Vimeo treats the files better? Is it worth the extra money?

The final result. A Dogme 95 style experiemental Test Film using the BMPCC and the Meteor 5-1 lens.

While the day shots (the second half of the test film) look alright, the night scenes in the beginning look awful.

Edit: I managed to fix some of the bad IQ by using YouTube enhancements, raising Saturation and Contrast +1. Lots of compression artifacts were mititaged, with the cost of darkening the image which makes the night scenes suffer somewhat.
