Curious what boards people visit for sound mixers/gear/tips/etc?
    Appreciate it

Plenty of good reads over at the usual suspects: gearslutz, jwsoundgroup, taperssection, sound on sound. Curtis Judd on the tube is good at no nonsense audio gear reviews of mixers and microphones. Trew Audio's blog is also worth a visit. Ty Ford. There are good podcasts on soundcloud that are hardcore into field recording and obsessive stereo techniques (ortf, blumlein, mid side, etc). Recently found one that interviews industry sound people but the name escapes me at the moment. Recording Hacks is an interesting database of obscure, exotic, and popular microphones.

Ken Stone is an old favorite: http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage..._brockett.html

    What else...

Thanks so much Fuego. Yeah - I obviously did some Google searches - but wasn't really coming up with any boards like this or dvxuser, etc. I've watched a bunch of Judd's stuff. Really appreciate the other suggestions

DVXuser has a broad enough membership, and there are some serious sound pro's over there. PLUS, they know exactly what context your questions are about - Audio for film/video.

Some really helpful folks over there.
Just make sure you phrase your questions really clearly in the titles.
Cameras: Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Blackmagic Pocket Camera (x2), Panasonic GH2 (x2), Sony RX100 ii, Canon 6D, Canon T2i,
Mics: Sennheiser, AKG, Shure, Sanken, Audio-Technica, Audix
Lights: Every Chinese clone you can imagine
