So I just unraveled about half of a standard 5m reel of LED strip onto a 2 liter plastic Coke bottle gaffed to the FilmTools lantern lock jig. Works great, and powered by a 190WH v-mount has given me 2hrs, with battery remaining. Still don't know how long it will last total. Crazy I never tried something like this until now.

Also, just yesterday stuffed some LED strip into random parts of my car, in an around the dash, on the visor etc, and had it powered by my cigarette lighter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Very cool what you can do with this stuff. I'll be shooting a little scene with the China ball / and some night time car stuff in a couple days.

Hey Roman - thanks a lot for those links. That's all the pieces/parts needed to make this all really easy.

    Okay...how about the obvious?
I have not been following the development of LED strips this past year - which are the affordable ones with good color? Or which are you guys using?

After I digest the debate will revise.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

Yeah, a few of us started this build a year or two ago on Personal View. I'll post some pics when I can but everyone here has the right idea and correct parts needed. LiteGear also makes quality LED ribbons.

The "relamp" by Visionsmith looks really awesome. But € 500 is quite steep.
Any of you know alternative ways of refitting fresnels with LED?

there is none yet. but I am mean if you combine an old fresnel with the above posted diy perks video tutorial and some creativity you should be able to build something cool.
