    @Darren:
I had the same problem with the EF mount conversion and the image shift. But i use a special PL mount adapter i found on eBay now. It totally removes the rotational shift and it minimizes the shift in the tilting direction. To remove the later you have to use a lens support at the front of the lens in addition to the locked PL/EF adapter. For the Ursa mini i use two lens supports from 8Sinn. One for the PL/EF adapter and one as a lens support.
The image shift is completely gone now. Even with the use of FF motors.

The lens support on the attached image is an older one i use only with the BMPC4K.

Which PL mount adaptor do you use now? Have a link to it? Is it tighter than the slr magic adapter? Does it retain the accuracy of the witness marks on the lens when you use this mount? Also do you have a link to the lens support you use on the Ursa mini ?

I bought the adapter from this eBay shop some time ago:
    https://www.ebay.de/str/c7-adapters?...p2047675.l2563

Unfortunatly it seems that he does not build them anymore.
But may be you can ask him directly. As i recall he is a very nice and helpful guy.
The adapter i have is very precise (witness marks spot on) and quite tight. But the tightness alone does not prevent any image shift. You have to lock the adapter on the rails. I guess you can use something simular like this:

    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...s_adapter.html

You may have to shim your lenses with this „cheap“ adapter though.

The lens support i am using now:
    http://www.8sinn.com/index.php/produ...port-15mm.html

Quite expensive i know, but very compact, snap on design and very stable.

Ciecio7 is still active and making very precise adapters. Just contact him.

Thanks , yes he/she responded with a direct link to it on their website. So thankful I have the PL mount for my UMP to avoid all that. But I'll prob purchase this when I want to use other cams.

Some frames from my UMP and the 25mm SLR magic. The 2 shots that are backlit with the sun, I didn't have the top flap on for the mattebox so you'll see a flare in those.

So I had a big interested in purchasing these, with the EF Adapter that is supplied for the extra $100 per lens. Though I read in the last page there is a issue when using a follow focus with the ef adapter? Can someone elaborate on this issue for me.

Its only a problem if using a remote/wireless follow focus. Because of the natural play in the EF mount, when a wireless FF unit is used, the torque exerted on the lens coupled with this play in the mount results in the image shifting. It's quite distracting. However its not an issue if you are using a manual follow focus.

So it wouldn’t be an issue if using a lens to rails support?

I’d say the issue is more to do with EF mounts in general. They’re not great with cinema lenses with high barrel rotation.

Some EF mounts have a lock to address this (higher end Canon C series and some REF cameras)
