    Hi All,

Just wanted to let everyone know, I have a super clean 6 lens set of Cooke Speed Panchro vintage lenses that have been rehoused by TLS available for rent. I can offer very competitive rates especially to independent film makers. Here is some info on the lenses:

All lenses cover Super 35mm sized sensors (18x24mm), compatible with Arri Alexa, Red Dragon, Sony F55,65, Black Magic Mini Ursa, Panasonic Varicam 35 or almost any camera that supports PL mount.

    18mm TLS Cooke Speed Panchro S3 T2.2 PL cf/7 114 OD
    25mm TLS Cooke Speed Panchro S3 T2.2 PL cf/7 114 OD
    32mm TLS Cooke Speed Panchro S2 T2.3 PL cf/8 114 OD
    40mm TLS Cooke Speed Panchro S2 T2.3 PL cf/9 114 OD
    50mm TLS Cooke Speed Panchro S2 T2.3 PL cf/11 114 OD
    75mm TLS Cooke Speed Panchro S2 T2.3 PL cf/16 114 OD

    Movies shot with the lenses:
Carol - nominated for academy award in Cinematograpy
    Baskets (Pilot episode)
    Midnight in Paris
    To Rome with Love
    Delicatessen
    Virgin Suicides
Mr and Mrs Smith (close ups)
    Underground: The Julian Assange Story
    Whiplash
Mr. Turner - nominated for academy award in Cinematography
    If I Stay
    Rush

The lenses provide a very classic cinema film like feel, softens edges, smooths skin. Very warm and forgiving on actors faces, can create a ‘glow’ like effect for dreamy and period type films. Takes the harsh edge off of Digital cameras, provides lower contrast while still providing a high level of detail and dynamic range to see in the shadows and hold data in the highlights of an image.

Feel free to contact me if you or someone you know is interested in renting.

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

I think they're in the People's Republic of Togo.

Might you post the generalized rental structures you would offer?
i.e. - set vs. individuals. Days vs. weeks. etc,.

Do you have a transport courier in place? Or is that to be arranged by the renter? Local pick up too I assume?

    Thanks?

The typical day rate is $1K for the set, although I can offer better rates for longer amounts of time, such as a 2 or 3 day rate for a week, 4 or 5 day rate for 2 weeks and 9 or 10 day rate for a month. Also I'm open to equipment trades such as discounting the rental of the lenses for the rental value of other equipment, such as an Alexa or Red Dragon, so I can basically rent that item from you for free. Ex: take $500 off the price of rental and then I can use a Dragon for 1 day for free. Also If you have an interesting project that I can come on as a Producer, DP, or Colorist, special pricing can be worked out as well.

I prefer to rent the entire set, but I could rent as few as 3 lenses or in special cases 2. Feel free to contact me with what your trying to do and if its last minute and they are available I may be able to help. Insurance will be required, but I can help get you a temp policy if you don't have one for reasonable rates.

Yes local pickup is preferred, if renter wants to make shipping or transport accommodations that works also.

You can add the film "Her" to your list.
If I wanted my films to look like the real world I'd buy a video camera.

I've only shot the P+S Technik rehoused version of these which weren't the smoothest focus wise. There were bumps in the middle of a pull and towards minumum focus they would jump dramatically to a macro setting. They were worth the pain of using them though. The TLS conversion seem to be a much better rehousing. Your daily rate is a bit high though. Your target audience here are freelance DPs who would love to save some money instead of going to a rental house. I would really be interested to see what you could do for a 3 day week.

I'm pretty flexible on rates, best I could do is a 2 day week which would be around $2K but if you only needed them for 3 days I might be able to do a 1 day rate depending on availability.
