Call me an overly sensitive jerk, but "RED people" just kinda bug me.

They're a group that has something going on that I really cannot put my finger on, but it just turns me off.

    A 2.13:1 aspect ratio sensor? That's a new one.

Some are kinda jerks no doubt, but I find them to be the minority. But yea I def see how people could be turned off. Also I am willingly to bet RED thought they needed to step it up a tad because of the the mini. Which is great for all of us, step it up!

Seems kinda like cheating to call it 4.5k by just making the image wider and not any taller?

It depends on your target aspect ratio. If you are targeting 2.4:1 then this is a resolution improvement. If your target is 16x9 then it adds cropping flexibility on the sides.

yeah I hear ya that it's nicer than not having it. But I still think it's misleading to say 'Raven is now 4.5K'. Meanwhile, if you're delivering in 16:9, the most you can get is 4K.
