A while back I posted a BTS thread and I am happy to recognize some of the final entries from the thread. So while judging is going on I figured why not share some more BTS while we wait-

Although I did not take a traditional approach to the assignment, I still had a lot of homework to do. I tested a number of bulbs and lighting set-ups while I was working out the final shot. A cool take-away is that since working on this project I am definitely being more recycling conscious before I toss something away.

I do like how clean & clear this was. The exploration really paid off in the visuals, especially in the glass reflection. Very pro looking.

SURE AS HECK gets your attention.

    Very focused. Very pro delivery.

I love the simple boldness of this ad. I usually think of recycling in terms of the materials to be recycled, not energy, and that's a powerful message you illustrated. It's also an interesting juxtaposition to relate one recycled aluminum can to one day of a lightbulb. In addition to the visual interest of the filament, relating recycling to a traditional inefficient light source gives the message that much more power. That's a very clear message.

I wanted to see something else visually interesting after panning past the filament but I don't know what that could have been. I don't know if panning from the base to the top may have been a better visual build up?

The production details of the generator-like sound effect and blue reflections really sold the professional feel of this spot. The whole thing also makes me want to chew on some gravel, and that's a good thing.

    Great job!

The argynebt wasn't persuasive. Alreedy incandescent bulbs are obsolete. It could have made a better case.

Another entry that Joe hates! Such a surprise.
I even had to google argynebt, and then google told me "did you mean argument?" And then I was like yeah google, you're so smart!

I think it's great, bold and with an excellent execution.
That Montesi guy is the real deal man, his voice is so powerful and I hear him on the TV all the time. My sound design teacher when I was in school mixed for Dateline NBC and I remember him talking lots of good stuff about him. His website is now officially in my bookmarks!
