    Hi All,

I'm looking for good slider dolly for a BMC. Is there are cheaper and just as good alternative to the Kessler Bloom signature ones?

The regular Kessler pocket dolly is quite a bit cheaper than the bloom model and is really nice. I have the 3' version. The crank handle has a channel so you can attach a motor/pulley. I DIY'd a motor setup for time lapse photography. It goes really slow and makes the whole run in about 35 minutes. The whole motor setup cost me around $30.

I guess you have to define "cheaper" since I don't know your budget.
I have the Kessler pocker dolly traveler. Love it. $629

I also bought the basic controller and motor to make it even smoother than me moving it by hand.

Whichever you get, make sure you get a dolly that uses roller bearings and not the friction type. I had one of those, they are cheap and for a reason. The movement sucks and will show in your video.

I've been using the Kessler Pocket Dolly 2.0 for years now with the elektraDRIVE motor control system and plan on buying the Kessler pan/tilt head here very soon. I use the motorized dolly for almost every project - a few examples are below:

Thanks. Kessler makes some nice dollies. No disrespect to the guy but cant undestand the mark up in price for the "Bloom" signature. The crassness would have deter me buying that one. I mean a Tarentino dolly would have still put me off let alone.
