Yeah. Great stuff man!
Looks and sounds pretty much PERFECT, mate!
Skin tones on the Bolex are just STOOOPID!
A vintage look overall that some may not like, but dear LORD the SKIN TONES!
A simple RAW Player would be really helpful. No features needed except maybe a 'film log detection' that would apply their basic Rec.709 lut.
LUTs would be nice of course, but then...
No luck on the compressed RAW.
But then again, really nothing but Resolve opens BMD compressed RAW.
Denny's on a quest to misspell my name in as many ways as he can before tax season sets in and he gets busy again.
It does list the URSA cameras, but it doesn't mention compressed RAW - that might be a no-go.
Gonna give this a go later today.
I explained a couple pages back that this combination will NOT fly on ANY single-handled gimbal. The Sigma lens is the issue. It's too long and too heavy for its length. It puts the center of...
Well they sure did hit the zero distortion goal.
The tests up there only show distortion and contrast. (I suppose sharpness too, but it seems most lenses are sharp at $900 so it didn't seem an...
The BMPC 4k gets HOT, and doesn't do high frame rates (which the marketplace seems to DEMAND nowadays) so no, I don't think even BMD can make a 4k RAW camera any smaller. Certainly not for anything...
Yeah, eYu nailed it with that picture - pretty much the WHOLE dang URSA Mini 4.6k size is a heat sink and the cooling fans.
In other words - that's as small as they can make it.
What do folks think is inside an UM4.6k?
Get a look at the insides and tell us what occupies 80% of the interior workings.
Then we'll talk about why there's no BMD 4k camera the size of a DSLR.
100 IRE is the "legal" broadcast top limit, but you could compare that to an old cassette tape in the era of digital audio.
There is massive amounts of optical data above 100 IRE that the sensors...
Obviously the 5.5k format will be superior.
And "5.5k for $5.5k" is the best marketing slogan since Almond Joy.
COme on folks, be fair!
Most Australian manufacturing has been diverted to the war effort.
The BMD factory is churning out a LOT of boots and sleeping tents.
Production should get back to...
I'm really sick of DR measurements of cameras that are not in a useful analytical context.
There's probably 10,000 articles out there that say the DR of camera 'x' or camera 'y' is this, or that,...
This device records compressed codecs ProRes HQ and DNxHD.
The 'Uncompressed' is only as an HD resolution 4:2:2 QuickTime file. But it only records what comes into it over the SDI input. ...
It's all just hardware except for the lens on the viewfinder - so it's either broken or it's not. Even stripped out threading can easily be re-tapped.
I might be scratched up - but that's just...
Basically the approach is this:
Darken down the WHOLE image and then use a couple of power windows and qualifiers to re-brighten the areas you want light on.
Right on the money.
Windows cannot run ProRes without a licence installed, Shoot DNxHR instead, it's basically the exact same thing. You still may have to install the DNx codec on your PC but it's free.
If you are in...
I observed similar buggy behavior with FireFox a couple years ago and it never really got much better. I quit using FireFox entirely.
